I apologise in advance if this sounds like a sales pitch. It isn’t.
Next Friday the Kickstarter for my second crowd-funded game closes. It’s funded already, and further pledges are pushing the campaign closer and closer towards the first stretch goal which unlocks alternative artwork.
The adrenaline rush is already beginning. The last few days of No Dice were more stressful because we didn’t have enough pledges to succeed until the last minute. This time around it’s a positive buzz from knowing the project is ready to go but not being certain about how many people will eventually back us.
Discussing the process of kickstarting a game with friends, I realised the thrill is as much the process of crowdfunding as the outcome. All I need now is the next big idea!
