It’s been a while.
Honestly, I haven’t felt like there’s much to write about on a blog recently. The last year has been busy, and while good, there have been things I needed to deal with more urgently than composing and delivering blog content.
Principal among the life changes is my “new” job as Director of Music at St James Church, Hill in Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield.
Also, I’m still massively overweight but now my blood pressure is becoming a concern too and I really need to lose some weight again.
Additionally, I’m still writing bits and pieces of music randomly instead of coherently but I have recently completed a commission for the church which will premier in October at a launch event. This is brilliant. I’ve delivered something ahead of deadline, complete and I’m prepared to publicly state I think it’s good enough to do the job.
Those who are aware of my borderline Imposter Syndrome will understand how hard it is to write that last bit.
Without milking the compliments or taking the mick, I’m hoping to do some more here in the near future. You never know, I may even be coherent.
Meanwhile, here’s a photo of me and my superhero mates in our Sunday capes serving St James church from the choir stalls.
