No Dice is live!

August 9, 2015

After fiddling around with the idea for years and spending weeks talking about it, No Dice is finally live on Kickstarter. Do you like card games? Dominoes? Scoring points? No Dice is the game you’re looking for, even if you never heard of it.

The project video is basically just me mumbling at the camera, and the rewards (including T shirts from Eve2 Media) are fairly standard but I’m truly happy with the game itself and welcome everyone on board to get it off the ground.

No Dice – a whole new game

July 26, 2015

For the last couple of years I’ve had an idea rolling around my head based on developing dominoes and adding elements from card games my brothers and I played when we were young(er). It’s essentially a three part domino design on hexagonal cards and a variety of matching rules to score points each turn. I found a supplier who prints custom decks and ordered one to play around with.

A week of achievements

July 12, 2015

In the last ten days, I’ve had a run of extremely positive moments. Since this blog exists partly to document my ego, I thought I’d pull them together and see what they all looked like in order. It started on Saturday July 4th…

Running for Money

September 7, 2014

Thank you to everyone who’s supported me by sponsoring my 10K run this morning. The weather was good, the terrain hilly and I had a very pleasant run with the others who turned out for the 5K and 10K. Little brother Jimm Rennie joined in as well, and being much faster than me was waiting at the finish to cheer me on.

Smarten up, my Dad’s reading this

June 11, 2013

My blog is connected to my Twitter account, to which I have granted WordPress access. It’s a simple way to announce new posts and garner interest from a wider audience, and it’s a simple matter for my followers to retweet the annoucnement. By this simple method of onward promotion, traffic has been generated for posts about forthcoming Walsall Social Media Surgery dates, and singing carols in pubs at Christmas. Bayard’s Colts – The Alchemist and The Devil

October 9, 2012

I’ve joined Bayard’s Colts. I play a folksy instrument, and I’m a resident of the fine Borough of Walsall, so it seemed only right.

Their (our) next production is The Alchemist and The Devil, a ripping yarn set in the noble Borough and starring the titular characters alongside Bayard, Sister Dora and Nell, the Tatman’s horse. Read the rest of this entry »

Structure and Punctuation

January 20, 2012

I’m writing a Cantata. I have 330 days left.

Thanks to the efforts of Jimm Rennie, I’ve been able to get a sort of outline in place, and I have two major melodic ideas I’d like to develop further.

The problem now arises that I’d rather like to get started with the writing. Read the rest of this entry »
